Warren Buffet is absolutely right. I am incredibly lucky to have been born into a relatively wealthy and comfortable life in the United States. I’ve had the benefit of a wonderful and free public school education and a heavily discounted, grant- and loan-aided collegiate experience. I like to think that I work hard to make the most of it, but luck has far more to do with where I find myself than hard work does. I could easily work just as hard or harder in a developing nation and barely be able to afford food.
In times like these, it is good to remember the richness of the gifts we have been given.
